Young Carers
Our Young Carers regularly meet at Images, Canvey Island Town Centre and have the opportunity to undertake lots of fun activities and outings!
The Young Carers are given the opportunity to take part in a forum to suggest the activities they would most like to do!
Into the New Year the drop in sessions will continue to run on alternate Mondays and Tuesdays but these will now be open to all age groups. Please be aware there may be a repeat of activities and on a Tuesday the activity is aimed at the younger age group.

Young Carers Half Term Trip
Young Carers Half Term Trip will be on Monday 13th February 2012
HOLLYWOOD BOWL, FESTIVAL LEISURE PARK AND DINNER AT TGI'S!
Pick up will be from Charfleets Farm Way at 12.45 by Hailstone Travel and collection will be in Basildon at 18.00 to be brought back to Charfleets Farm Way for 18.30.

Our scheme supports children aged 8 to 18 who care for a relative with a physical learning or learning disability, mental health problem, long term illness, drug/alcohol misuse or domestic violence. The person they care for may be a parent or brother or sister. They may have help with their caring role from another family member or they may be the sole carer. With regard to caring for someone with a mental health problem it can be the impact this has on a child's life. We run drop in sessions which provide young carers with a break from their caring and give them the opportunity to meet other young carers. We provide fun and educational activities, trips out and advice and information. We can access the Young Carer Direct Support Fund for respite breaks or personal development opportunities for example school holidays, musical instruments, sports equipment. |
